Captain George Landrum Fishing Report May 22nd, 2009

Notes: There are still no reported cases of the Swine Flu here in the Baja, but tourist numbers have remained low anyway. Just as was the case last week the report this week is based on very low numbers of boats going out. We are still seeing a few whales here and there but they are pretty much done for the year.

Tarpon Fly Fishing Report
May 2, & 3, 2009

Greetings from Tarpon World:

May 2, 2009:

Today I took Neil and Paula Yeager from Wyoming for some night time fly fishing for Tarpon. We fished for about five hours and had pretty good fishing considering the 20 knot south east wind which keeps blowing. Neil jumped the first two Tarpon, which both spit the fly and then Paula caught her first ever Tarpon.

Captain George Landrum Fishing Report April 28th, 2009

WEATHER: There were a few clouds in the sky this week but for the most part we had sunny and clear skies. It feels as if summer is fast approaching as our daytime temperatures have been a few degrees warmer every week, this week we averaged 88 degrees in the daytime and 71 degrees in the mornings. I almost turned on the air conditioning last night, but then thought better of it, after all, that stuff costs a lot of money and I turned on the floor fan instead!

Don Butler from Connecticut and North Carolina along with his son John Butler from central Florida fly fished for Tarpon with me tonight for there third consecutive night. We left the dock at 8:30 PM in 20 knot south east winds, with clear star filled skies, and a 1 foot chop in the cut where we were fishing on the lee side of a Key.
