Monique Burr Foundation for Children Media Invitation

WHAT:

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children, Inc. is hosting the 20th Annual El Pescado Billfish Tournament on Oct. 2-4 at Camachee Cove Marlin Club in St. Augustine, Florida. The tournament is part of the world’s largest offshore sanctioning organization, the World Billfish Series (WBS). Composed of six regional divisions, the series is one of the most successful and well-established billfish tournaments.

With $240,000 in expected cash prizes, The El Pescasdo Billfish Tournament is expected to attract anglers from throughout the Atlantic coastal region. The total amount of prize money will be based on the number of boat entries. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, Inc. and its mission to provide abuse education and prevention to children. From Jacksonville, take Interstate 95 south to exit 318 toward St. Augustine. Turn left at SR 16 East and right on San Marco Avenue. Turn left on May Street/SR AIA and left on Harbor Drive.

WHEN:

The El Pescado Billfish Tournament will begin with a Captain’s Dinner at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2. Fishing will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct.3-4.

DETAILS:

Boaters will leave at 5 a.m. on Friday and Saturday from Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor. Media is encouraged to attend the event at 5 p.m., at which time boaters will return to the harbor and evening events will begin.
