Fishing Program
Although we are not limited by excessive angler numbers to need a particular “rotation”, we strive to fish water equally. This provides variety for our clients and resting time for the most productive water and more importantly the fish. We usually fish in groups of two anglers but occasionally there may be up to three rods per guide. Every attempt is made to fish virgin water at all times during the week. You will see all sections of the rivers we fish during your trip provided conditions are average or better.
When conditions are average a realistic expectation is to hook 2-4 fish per day averaging 12-15 lbs.
Weather and Water Conditions
The biggest factor affecting your success during any week of river fishing will be the water conditions. The timing of heavy rainfall and unseasonably temperatures cannot be predicted and this is the risk we must accept as fisherman. Our unique location at Bell 2 Lodge provides access to a number of rivers that are affected by different geographical and physical characteristics.
On a typical year, late August and early September provides dry conditions making the rivers run low and clear. All snow melt is down and glacial influences are minimal. Due to our northern location in the mountains the temperatures remain cool. Moderate rainfall will have little impact on our river conditions throughout the steelhead season.
Angler Ability and Guide Service
We cater to all levels of anglers. The water we fish is so diverse all anglers will be in situations likened to their ability and desires. The fishing can never be described as “easy” and a decent physical condition is required to wade and fish all day long.
Guides are chosen for their outgoing personalities, fly fishing and wilderness knowledge and their passion for guest service.

Bell 2 Lodge provides access to the remote and seldom fished Nass River Watershed. Due to the remoteness and lack of access to this system, very few anglers will fish the Nass waters each year. The run of fish is comprised of only wild stock and these fish are concentrated in the four tributary rivers and numerous small creeks that we fish on a daily basis. Low angler densities and exceptional local knowledge of these rivers provide our guests with an unparalleled angling experience.
