Chiawa Camp, Zambia Zambia offers one of the few places in the world to fish for the notorious tigerfish that reach 20 pounds in size as well as vundu catfish reaching 70 pounds and more. No netting is allowed and a total catch-and-release policy equates to plenty of action with the saber-toothed fish. Best fishing takes place September to November. Due to its privileged exclusivity inside the National Park, only two boats can be operated at one time with a maximum six fishing guests. Eighteen-foot pontoon boats come with a guide, fuel and tackle, but most anglers bring their own gear (including wire leaders to ward off tigerfish teeth).
