How big was that marlin? Even as tales of record-breaking catches feed the imagination - and sometimes doubt - a picture is still worth a thousand words, while video is probably worth a million. That’s where Sanyo’s new Xacti camcorder comes in handy, allowing the user to shoot six megapixel digital stills or 640x480 resolution video of the one that didn’t get away.
This waterproof digital camcorder - one of the first available to the consumer market - is capable of recording full motion video five-feet underwater for up to 30 minutes. Incorporating a water-tight design that can resist the pressure created when submersed, the Xacti is great for capturing dramatic shots of underwater sea-life or a splash-filled pelagic fight on the surface.
The camera features a large 2.5-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) that flips out and rotates up to 285 degrees on an axis that allows you to take great video or still images from otherwise difficult to view positions, proving especially useful when shooting underwater. The super fast start-up lets users begin shooting in as little as 1.7 seconds to reduce the chance of missing the moment a trophy fish breaks the surface. Check it out at www.sanyo.com.
